Back to the Basics: Ed-Fi Config & Tools
How in the world does Infinite Campus automagically talk to DPI? This session will allow users to get a ground zero level on how Infinite Campus connects with the DPI. System preferences, ed-fi school and district numbers as well as the WISEid are all vital connection pieces. A quick review of these items will kick the session off. We get it - sometimes you walk into (or are pushed?) State Reporting and don't have those basic nuts and bolts in terms of the connection.

Next, we will cover the Ed-Fi tools. The Ed-Fi tools allow users to manually resync specific data, view any syncing errors which have occurred, view queued Ed-Fi data sync events, and manually force processing of Ed-Fi data sync events. Come to this session to learn how each of these tabs operate as well as tips for using this area of Ed-Fi.

Deposit Reporter
This session will focus on the new deposit reporter tool.

Use the Deposit Reporter to check the status of deposits made into your district's or school’s bank accounts. This tool can also be used to calculate the total deposits for each bank for a specific date range.
After payments are processed and settled by the payment platform, the money is disbursed to your district's or school's bank accounts. These disbursements appear as deposits in the Deposit Reporter tool. The deposit amount for a date and bank account should match the amount deposited into your bank account. After payments are settled or after returns and transactions fees are processed by the payment platform, the money is disbursed to your bank account. You may see withdrawals (negative deposit amounts) from bank accounts to cover refunds and fees.

This session will highlight three areas that can assist your special education staff when it comes to using the special education module in Infinite Campus.

Special Ed Template Banks are used to provide easy text selections for common learner planning items, often related to goal setting in plans and evaluations.

The Service Log is used by staff to track when a special ed service was provided to eligible students with plans. Service Log records can only be created for students that have a locked plan with associated services.

The Goal Monitoring tool is used to document the student's progress toward their special education goals and objective. Once a goal/objective record is created, users can add individual entries to track the students progress towards the goal/objective or document an intervention change

Responsive scheduling. Flexible Scheduling. Intervention. Enrichment.  What I need. These are all terms that can be accomplished using Infinite Campus's core tools of Responsive Scheduling.

Ad Hoc - SQL Pass Throughs
Who is ready to take Ad Hoc to the next level? (Everyone is raising their hand - I know it!). This fun interactive session will allow users to gain a basic understanding of that 3rd radio button in the query wizard - SQL Pass Through.

Users can return custom sets of data by using the pass-through SQL query option, available as part of the Ad hoc Filter Designer tool. A pass-through query uses SQL language to gather the desired information. A basic understanding of SQL and a working knowledge of the Campus data schema is helpful. Pass-through queries allow users to search for data in a more customized way, to search on tables and views not used in the Query Wizard and to use SQL operators.

How do you get in there to hear what your students are thinking and feeling?: Thriving Index Survey (Core SEL survey)
Infinite Campus has partnered with Character Lab (characterlab.org) to make available the Thriving Index Survey. The Thriving Index asks students about their interests, habits, feelings, and beliefs. It consists of four categories: social thriving, emotional thriving, academic thriving, and physical thriving. The Thriving Index is a tool for the formative assessment of student social, emotional, academic, and physical well-being. Character Lab founder and CEO Angela Duckworth developed this tool to encourage student participation and create content aligned with their needs.

Repeated participation allows schools and organizations to monitor student well-being topics such as sleep habits, social media use, and sense of belonging. Thriving Index results are shared through live, customized, easily accessible dashboards. School staff, district leaders, or organizational leaders can act on Thriving Index results by identifying areas for improvement and sharing relevant resources to support their students.
